Dr. McLaughlin is proud to announce that he has been named the Medical Director for the Hudson Valley Total Joint Center at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital.
Meet Dr. McLaughlin
Dr. McLaughlin is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of conditions of the knee, hip and shoulder. Dr. McLaughlin performs knee, hip and shoulder replacement as well as minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures. He also treats fractures of the upper and lower extremities.
Dr. McLaughlin graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City in 1993 and completed his Orthopedic Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He completed his Fellowship at the Univeristy of Texas in San Antonio.
Arthritis of the Knee
Arthritis of the knee occurs when the cartilage surface begins to wear away allowing the bony surfaces to rub together. Symptoms of knee arthritis may include pain, stiffness, and swelling.

Arthritis of the Hip
The hip is a "ball and socket joint" which is lined by protective cartilage. When this cartilage wears away, arthitis of the hip is the result. Symptoms of hip arthritis include pain (usually localized to the groin), stiffness and difficulty walking long distances.
